John Burke

John Burke is Lead Pastor of Gateway Church in Austin, Texas, a congregation of 3,000 people, 70 percent of whom are in their 20s and 30s. The church consists mostly of unchurched people who began actively following Christ at Gateway. John is also president of Emerging Leadership Initiative, which helps establish a multiplying network of missional churches that equips young emerging leaders to plant innovative churches. John is the author of No Perfect People Allowed and Soul Revolution (Zondervan). Before starting Gateway, he served as the executive director of ministries at Willow Creek Community Church. He and his wife, Kathy, have two children, Ashley and Justin.
